Love, Lemons & a Little Life drama
It’s February the month of LOVE, pancakes and apparently consistent rain.
My valentines day plans were cuddling up with the dogs and my niece on the sofa, eating a take away and watching a movie. It was bliss.
I didn’t have a sexy date night planned and truthfully, I wouldn’t have enjoyed all the fuss anyway. I like things simple. Low pressure. No grand gestures. No expectations. Just comfort. Maybe it’s because there’s less chance of feeling overwhelmed. Maybe it’s because peace and quiet are simply underrated. Or maybe I’m just getting older and value a cosy evening more than a crowded one. Maybe that’s boring, but that’s me.
Grandma era is well and truly unlocked.
Pancake Day, however, is where I draw the line on “keeping it simple.”
The more toppings the better in my book. I’m talking fruit, chocolate, syrups, spreads, the works. Don’t get me wrong, I do love good old lemon and sugar or a simple chocolate spread pancake but the sicklier the better.
Now the rest of February has been a bit of a mad one…
Lottie tried to play with a cat on our walk and let me tell you, it did not like that at all! I had to drag Lottie away with one hand and try and defend us from the angry beast with the other. We barely made it out alive! I swear I saw the cat near our street a few days after so I think it’s out for revenge…
On another walk, a week after, I managed to get my hair caught in her extension lead and as she ran back towards me it pulled a big clump inside the handle. I tried very hard not to freak out and managed to slowly get my hair out in (nearly) one piece. Some did get pulled out but thankfully no bald spot!
Finally, and my nan does say things always comes in threes, I had a date lined up and he got so ill he had to cancel just before I left to meet him. Might not sound that bad, but I had an everything shower (girls you know what I mean), make-up done, outfit on and hair curled. Now the poor guy was very very ill, so not his fault at all, but you can’t help feeling a little bit sad when you were super excited to see them, fully ready to go out with a fresh face of makeup. But these things happen and it doesn’t take me long to go back into full gremlin mode.
Luckily, that seems to be the golden three and I haven’t had any drama since! But I'm hoping that it just means something really good is going to happen soon, I have started to update my portfolio and do TikTok lives so maybe I’ll have some luck there. Fingers crossed.
Plans for next month are to have my portfolio fully complete and start sending out to agencies again! I also want to stop being so nervous about drawing on Lives but that might be a working progress…all tips are welcome.
I hope you have all had an amazing February, no bad luck, and catch you next month!
